Kratie, Irrawaddy Dolphins, Traditional Rice Products, 100 Pillars Pagoda, Full Day Private Tour
After being picked up at your hotel we make our first stop at Phnom Sambok, where we climb stairs to the top to be rewarded with a beautiful panoramic view of the countryside and the Mekong River. Then we follow the Mekong along towards Sambor, on our way we will stop to see a traditional Brick Factory, Khmer Noodlemaking, a Rice Wine Distillery, and eat some delicious Bamboo sticky rice.
Khmer food is on the menu for lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Mekong.
Then off to visit the 100 pillars pagoda, which remains a place of pilgrimmage to this day. Built in the 16th century by King Chann Reachea, the pagoda includes 100 wooden columns in memory of his daughter Vorakpheak who was killed by a Mekong crocodile.
Rounding out our day is a boat trip to view the Irrawaddy Dolphins. A local boat will take us on a cruise out onto the beautiful Mekong to see these gentle mammals. Viewing is guaranteed. We will spend an hour or so dolphin viewing, then you will be returned to your accommodation in Kratie.
