Kratie is a laid back province and a laid back city. The town sits on the banks of the Mekong and is known for its Colonial Architecture. It's a relaxing spot where you can wander and watch the Sunset over the river with a cold beverage. 

Its a fantastic place to see Irrawaddy Dolphins and Soft Shell Turtles, sample and see the fabrication of various Rice products like Rice Wine, Rice Noodles, and Kralan, a rice dessert cooked in Bamboo. Don't miss the One Hundred Pillar Pagoda, a boat trip on the Mekong River, Cheeky Monkeys, and be sure to try the local Citrus, Pomelo is a perennial favorite.
