Bird Sanctuary of Boeng Tonle Chmar
The Bird Sanctuary at Boeng Chmar is home to many Threatened species of Birds, including Storks, Kites, Pelicans, and Cormorants, as well as many Fish, Plants, and Animals. It is on a lake that is subject to seasonal flooding when it becomes part of the larger Tonle Sap, and by extension the Mekong. Its edges are bordered by Flooded Forest and numerous small creeks. The local people here live on houseboats to adapt to the changing water levels.
