Phnom Bayang
The Pre-Angkorian Temple of Bayang dates from the 7th century. Situated on a hill 300 metres high, its brick and stone construction lies partially in ruin. As with many Temples from the Chenla Kingdom this one was dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva and contains a Lingam. A small creek has its source at the top of the mountain which flows down to a pool which is popular for bathing. The 400 steps required to reach the top will give you your required daily exercise, but you will be rewarded with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
