Full Day Private Excursion to Kampot From Phnom Penh
Your guide will pick you up at your hotel in Phnom Penh for the drive to Kampot. Your first is going be at the 7th century Hindu temple of Phnom Chhngok. This small Temple dedicated to Shiva is located inside a cave in the mountain. From there we will continue on to La Plantation Pepper farm for a look at how Pepper is grown and processed. Lunch will be at their excellent restaurant.
After lunch we head to Kep to see its lovely beach and fantastic Crab Market. Some of the best Crab in the Kingdom is landed here, and walking around the market is always a fun experience. Moving inland again we will visit the Salt Fields (in Dry Season), here shallow ponds are filled with seawater, which slowly evaporates in the sun. Then it is raked into piles, collected, washed, and packaged for sale.
Onwards to Kampot City with a stop at the famous Seahorse Statue. Located right on the river promenade this statue is a popular photo spot. Just completed in August 2024 is a 35 metre tall clock built on an island in the river. It is placed so it becomes a backdrop to the Seahorse statue. From there we move into the old heart of the city with its Colonial Buildings and old market.
Finally your driver will return you to your hotel in Phnom Penh.
