Beung Yeak Laom
Just 10 minutes from Banlung is the Volcanic Crater Lake, Beung Yeak Laom. This almost perfectly circular lake is filled with clear emerald water, and surrounded by forest. It has special significance for the local Tampuan people who come here to make ritual offerings. There are numerous stalls and small restaurants with beautiful views of the lake just back from the shore. This is a great spot for a swim and delicious lunch afterwards. The Tampuan also sell some of their traditional products here, like wild honey, rice wine and dried beef.
