Tonle Sap Floating Villages
As part of the great System of the Mekong the Tonle Sap is unique. Every year during Rain Season the flow in the Mekong increases so much that the Tonle Sap reverses direction and becomes Asia's largest lake. To adapt to life on the lake people took to creating Floating Villages. Here they are primarily fisherman, but whole economies have grown with them. There is a whole community here; homes, shops, a school, medical clinic, police post, fire station, church and restaurants as well.
