Beng Mealea Temple

The impressive Temple of Beng Mealea lies in a mostly unrestored state with tumbled stone blocks and jungle vines covering much of the site. Very little is known about it, except what can be discerned from its architectural style, and its stone carvings. Similar to Angkor Wat, it was probably built around the same time. It is notable for its large size and for being surrounded by a huge moat. This little visited complex is certainly worth a visit.
