Bokor Mountain Half Day Private Tour
After pickup from your hotel your guide will drive you to Bokor Mountain following the serpentine road to the top. As you ascend the temperature gradually falls, the top of the mountain sits at over 1.000 metres. Your first stop is the 29 metre tall statue of Lok Yeay Mao, Grandmother Mao is the protector of travellers, hunters, and fishermen. Nearby is the ruined Black Palace, used a hot season retreat by King Norodom.
Next up is Wat Samprov Pram, named for a rock formation that resembles five boats. This lovely Pagoda is perched on the edge of the mountain and affords a stunning view of the coast. From there we move along to the old Catholic Church built in the 1920's it is one of the few churches in the country that was not destroyed during the war. Walking up the hill behind it there is a great view of the islands.
Continuing from there we find the ruined Bokor Palace Hotel, used intermittently from the mid 1920's until 1972 this was a hot season resort for the French, and the center of Hill Station life on Bokor. And finally we take a short drive to Popokvil Waterfall. This lovely spot has a two tiered drop and a series of cascades set amongst the forest.
After that your guide will return you to your hotel.
