Full Day Private Excursion to Bokor National Park from Phnom Penh

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel in Phnom Penh and drive you to Bokor Mountain, there you will follow the circuitous road to the top. The road climbs to a height of 1.000 metres, with the temperature going down as you go up. The first place on the itinerary is the Guardian of the Mountain, a large stone face offering a great view over the city of Kampot. Just a few kilometres further is the 29 metre tall statue of Lok Yeay Mao, Grandmother Mao is the protector of travellers, hunters, and fishermen. Across from this are the ruins of the Black Palace, during the reign of King Norodom the court would spend a few of the hotter months here.

From there we will stop for lunch at the Lotus Restaurant located in the Thansur Sokha Hotel. This restaurant serves both Asian and Western dishes.

After lunch we visit Wat Sampov Pram, the Five Boats Pagoda. The name comes from an unusual rock formation. Perched on the edge of the mountain it gives a stunning view of the coast. Moving on to the old Catholic Church, constructed during the 1920's to serve the summer population. Today it is mostly intact, and has occasional services. There is a hill behind it with a great view of the islands.

Next is the ruined Bokor Palace Hotel, from the mid 1920's until 1972 this was a hot season resort, and the center of Hill Station life on Bokor. And finally we take a short drive to Popokvil Waterfall. The falls have a double drop and a series of cascades in a very pretty setting surrounded by trees and vegetation.

After that your guide will return you to your hotel in Phnom Penh.
