Phnom Penh and Siem Reap Highlights 5 Day Private Tour

Day 1) Arrival

Your guide will pick you up from the airport and bring you to your hotel. Since flights arrive at all times of day, and you may be tired, the only scheduled activity for this day is a sunset cruise along the Mekong. This is a beautiful trip that gives you a unique view of the city. After which you will be returned to your hotel.

Day 2) Phnom Penh

Once you are settled your guide will take you on a tour of the Capitol. First up is a visit to the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda located on its grounds. From there it is off to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum previously known as S-21 and the KIlling Fields. Then to the Pagoda at Wat Phnom, where Phnom Penh takes its name. After that it is time for a great dinner at a local restaurant, then your guide will drop you at your hotel.

Day 3) Phnom Penh, Travel to Siem Reap

Your guide will drive you to Siem Reap then drop you at your hotel to get checked in and have some lunch. After your break you are off to the stunning Ta Prohm Temple, made famous in the film Tomb Raider. The nearby temples of Banteay Kdei, Sra Srong, Ta Keo, Thommanon and Chau Say Tevado, will be visited next. You will enjoy a wonderful dinner accompanied by Traditional Khmer Apsara Dance before returning to your hotel.

Day 4) Siem Reap

Your fourth day starts with a visit to the ancient capitol of Angkor Thom with a special view of the statues of the South Gate, the smiling faces on the towers of Bayon Temple, and the Royal Enclosure, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. After yet another delicious lunch you are off to visit the main temple of Angkor Wat, this is what you came all this way for and it is well worth it. You will enjoy the sunset from Phnom Bakheng, one of the hills dominating the plain of Angkor, and have a spectacular view of the Western Baray and Angkor Wat. After sunset your guide will return you to your hotel and you are free to make dinner arrangements on your own.

Day 5) Siem Reap

On your final day with us your guide will bring you to the pier, then accompany you on your boat trip to see the Floating Village on Lake Tonle Sap. You will be amazed at how life is lived floating on the lake, everything from markets to schools and clinics are accomodated, come appreciate this unique way of life. Our final stop is at the wonderful Artisans Angkor, a social enterprise that teaches traditional Khmer handcrafts such as Lacquering, and Silver Plating, Silk Painting and Wood and Stone Carving. Some of their stonework has been used to repair the monuments of Angkor.
