Jungle Trek, Indigenous Homestay, and Elephant Sanctuary Two Day Private Tour

We will pick you up from your guest house and bring you to the Bunong Village where you will meet your local guide. After a look around the village we start trekking by crossing the community bridge across the Otey River.

Making our way through the jungle we initially pass through some cultivated areas with Cashew, Manioc, Banana, and other food staples, then the jungle thickens and we are surrounded by Bamboo, then tall trees and hanging vines.

Just before lunch time we will arrive at the 30 metre high Leng Kun Waterfall where we can take a break, have lunch and a swim.

After a rest we are off to Leng Ret Cave to see the bats, since it is the middle of the day they will be roosting, and quiet. Passing through the jungle our guide will point out some of the plants they use for traditional medecine. As we come closer to our stop for the night, Putang Village, you will see more food crops like, lemon Grass, Chili pepper, Pineapple, and Wild Rice.

When we arrive at the village you can wash, change clothes, and relax until it is time for dinner. On the menu tonight is a traditional soup cooked inside Bamboo, and some Homemade Rice Wine to wash it down. Your bed is a Hammock with Mosquito Net where you can gaze at the Stars. Zzzzzz

Day Two:

Wake up with breakfast in the village, then put your comfortable shoes on again. We will walk from their village down into the valley along a jungle path, a bit further down we will meet our new friend for the day.  After the introductions you are invited to touch and feed the Elephant. Then we are off for a jungle walk with the Elephant to the Waterfall where we will stop and have a nice lunch. This beautiful quiet spot is a great place to relax while you all eat.

After your break, change into your bathing suit because it is time to swim, and wash the Elephant. They love the water, and as well as a way to keep clean it also helps them moderate their body temperature.

We will dry off, give the Elephant another snack, then it will be released back into the jungle where it will do private Elephant stuff, and we will walk back to the Bunong Village, then return you to your guest house.

This is respectful travel, the Elephants are not ridden, or exploited.

This is a private tour, so you may take it any day, and anytime you would like. Just let us know what fits your schedule.
