Phnom Penh

National Museum Phnom Penh

In the center of the city, close to the Royal Palace, lies the National Museum of Cambodia. Housing one of the largest collections of Khmer art and artifacts in the world dating from prehistoric times through Angkorian to the present. With its Ethnographic and Archeological collections it is surely a treasure to behold. An unexpected collection is the colony of Cambodian Freetail Bats that inhabit the roof, if you visit around dusk you can see them depart en masse on their nightly rounds.
