Royal Palace Phnom Penh

On the banks of the Mekong sits the Royal Palace of Cambodia, built by King Norodom in 1866. After changing locations many times Phnom Penh was selected as the Capital and construction was started on what would become a complex of buildings including the Royal Residence and numerous Pagodas. The Silver Pagoda is the most visited site, housing many of the national treasures such as gold and jeweled Buddha statues. Located in the heart of Phnom Penh it is a must visit to for anyone in the city.
